Personal Vocation: Your Unique Call to Participate in Salvation History.

Dr. Joshua Miller and Mr. Luke Burgis of The Inscape Center are facilitating a critical movement in our time. The world offers a plethora of paths for each person to choose from, but so many wonder, “Which path is for me?” Pope St. John Paul II proclaimed that the Creator has set each person into a unique, exclusive and unrepeatable relationship with Himself. Inscape provides a great service to humanity in deploying tools and forming coaches who can help each person discover his or her unique calling.

The passion and expertise of Dr. Joshua Miller and his colleagues at the Inscape Center are a blessing to the Church and the world. They understand that the renewal of the Church, and the corresponding renewal of families, parishes, schools, and other organizations is dependent upon the renewal of the human person understood not as an abstract entity but as an unrepeatable, unique individual, called and beloved by God.

Over 50 women were trained by Dr. Miller in the art of asking open-ended questions, using empathic listening, and drawing out fulfillment stories for the GIVEN Mentoring Program. The feedback has been outstanding from both mentors and mentees on how these tools have helped young adults dive deeper into their personal vocations. The methodology has transformed our programming at GIVEN and we look forward to a continued partnership with the Inscape Center for Personal Vocation in an effort to help young women discover the gift only they can give.

The personalism, knowledge, and facilitation brought by Inscape Center supported our Seton Teaching Fellows to better understand who they were becoming in their missionary year of service based on their personal vocations. Joshua was so attentive and generous in tailoring the content and facilitation to fit the vocational charism of the STF Program while also challenging us to grow. Our Fellows came out of the retreat better equipped to identify and rejoice in their missionary call; they felt confident and seen that their mission as STF was a critical piece in the larger story of salvation history and the way that Christ is calling them to live in the present.

I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Joshua Miller and Inscape for several years now as a strategic partner. They help members of the Mystical Body discover and live into who God created them to be –this is the way the Church moves forward and is vibrant and beautiful and holy! Inscape Vocations is making great contributions to this effort across our diocese, for both laity and clergy. I look forward to our continued work together.
